A very busy evening was on tap for Sunday night at the Cornwall Motor Speedway, including a visit from the Patriot Sprint Tour, feature races in all division, and the fourth attempt at running the Cindy Ladouceur Memorial / Danny Lefebvre race, but once again Mother Nature interfered with plans. Just two races were completed before rains came.
The Cindy Ladouceur Memorial / Danny Lefebvre race started the evening, as Tyler French took the early lead in front of Karl Potvin and Marc Dagenais. A good battle ensued for second between Potvin and Dagenais, as Dylan Kirkland brought out the caution on lap 13. On the restart, Dagenais powered by French for the lead, with Joe McNicholls in third. McNicholls battled towards the front, joining Dagenais, when Patrice Moniere rolled over in turn 2 and red came out with one lap remaining. McNicholls led the final lap and captured the win, his first of the season at the Cornwall track
The 30-lap Patriot Sprint Tour saw Dylan Westbrook out in front early, with Steve Poirier in second and Mitch Brown in third. With 10 laps in, Westbrook found himself caught in the traffic. He continued to lead until lap 22, when Poirier made his move to pass, with Jared Zimbardi running in third. Poirier held the lead over the final laps to win the Patriot Tour feature, with Westbrook and Zimbardi completing the top three.
The rain came in as preparations were underway for the Modified feature, forcing track operators to pull the plug for the rest of the evening. Remake dates will be determined in the coming days.

It will be decidedly busy Sunday evening at the Cornwall Motor Speedway, with six classes of racing on the schedule, for a total of seven features.
The slate includes a visit by the Sprint Car division, for the 30-lap Patriot Sprint Tour feature.
The evening will see the fourth attempt to complete the second round of the Cindy Ladouceur Memorial Series, which will also be combined with the Danny Lefebvre Memorial. Previous runs have been scrubbed due to inclement weather. This is a 25-lap race, booked to start start the evening at 6:15pm sharp!
The Mini-Stock will then have their regular evening with heats and a 15-lap event later in the evening.
Because of all the losses calendar-wise so far, promoter Raymond Lavergne decided to add the Modified division to Sunday’s event. They will run a 30-lap regular feature. As well, the schedule includes races for the Sportsman, Pro-Stock, and Novice Sportsman.
Pit gates will open at 3pm at a cost of $35. General admission will open at 4:30pm with a cost of $25 for adults, $13 for seniors, and $2 for kids 16 years old and under.
