One soccer team from our region will compete at OFSAA, as the girls from la Citadelle have qualified.
Earlier this week, the senior girls team travelled to Elgin for the EOSSAA tournament.
Les Patriotes won their first game 4-0 against Valour High School, tied their second 1-1 with Rideau District High School, and prevailed in the final 1-0 in sudden death overtime versus St. Michael Catholic High School
With the triumph, la Citadelle's girls scored EOSSAA gold to earn a spot in the OFSAA tournament, taking place June 7-9, in Chatham.
As we reported in this week's edition of The Glengarry News, a number of the county's high school soccer teams were competing in EOSSAA tournaments.
On the boys side, both Glengarry DHS and Char-Lan DHS had their junior and senior boys squads at EOSSAA in Williamstown, where the Gaels claimed the junior championship. The senior Gaels ended their season as runners-up.
Le Relais' senior girls competed at the AA level this year, in Kingston, where les Rapides were silver medallists.

We have a photo gallery from last Wednesday's SD&G A boys soccer playoffs, held in Alexandria. The May 16 tournament featured junior and senior divisions, with the GDHS Gaels winning both titles.

Glengarry DHS will host the boys 'A' SD&G soccer playoffs (junior and senior divisions) on Wednesday, May 23. The full schedule can be found in the print/digital editions of The News.
The girls 'A' tournament will go in Cornwall, also on May 23, at la Citadelle.
'AA' playoffs are scheduled for May 23 (girls) and May 24 (boys) at St. Joseph's.
With just one junior tournament remaining – May 17 in Alexandria – Char-Lan's boys top the 'A' group, and Tagwi sits first amongst the girls.
In the 'AA' loop, Holy Trinity's boys and girls are both in first place.
Thursday's tourney is scheduled to see matches at the arena field (involving Tagwi's teams) and on the GDHS pitch (for the Gaels). It all is to begin at noon.
The senior boys soccer team from Char-Kan DHS hit the pitch in Cornwall on Monday, dropping a 2-1 decision to St. Joseph's before pounding host St. Lawrence 8-0.
The results give the Crusaders a record of 7 and 1.

At last week's SD&G high school track and field championships in Ottawa, Holy Trinity CSS won the overall school title, with 454 points, ahead of Tagwi, which had 418.
L'Heritage was third, followed by St. Joseph's, CCVS, North Dundas, Char-Lan, Glengarry, Seaway, St. Lawrence, and la Citadelle.
